mise en scene analysis

 1) Find a distinctive still image and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson.

-The windows of his car have bullets holes in them, which may show that bad guys are after him and are trying to kill him. The man in the far right corner with a gun has connotations that he is the bad guy trying to kill the innocent man driving the car. The gold light shining on the man in the car shows him to be the main character and he is a nice man as he is so is the centre of attention. The serious facial expression on his face also promises the audience drama and action.

2) Find TWO film or TV extracts on YouTube from different genres (e.g. horror, sci-fi, costume drama). Embed them in your blogpost and write a comparison of the mise-en-scene in each.

-The first clip is a horror film, and the clips the little doll which appears to be a child's toy is actually not a child's toy but instead a violent and aggressive toy, which we know because it speaks and threatens the lady with the voice man like. The blood on the lady's hand after the doll bites her also prove the doll to be evil. And the sound tracks the elevators went down with the doll who ran away in it created suspense as to whether she would catch the doll or not. However, the second clip is a romance film, and the clip show how the two people are dancing in love with each other. And the sound track as she walks to him is soothing and peaceful, which shows us that it is a nice and clam romantic movie.
