sound analysis

 1) Find a film clip on YouTube that uses sound in an interesting way. Analyse the use of sound, making sure you use the key language we have learned about sound in film:





-In Rue's death scene, there's music in the background that only the audience hears (non-diegetic sound) while Katniss picks flowers. This type of sound is used to make scenes sadder or happier. In this case, it makes the audience feel more connected and upset. If there was a happy soundtrack during Rue's death, it wouldn't have the same effect.

-When Katniss sings the willow song to Rue, everyone, including the audience, hears the music (diegetic sound). This type of sound is more impactful for the characters in the movie, making the scene more emotional and meaningful. It lets us understand different perspectives in emotional moments, making the acting more powerful.
