TV assessment learner response

1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

-WWW:Q2 shows good knowledge of the TV CSP's in places and just needs a slight sharper question focus to punch into the higher levels.

-EBI:Q1,revise postmodernism,see mark scheme for examples here.
       :Q2, need more on genre and whether/how the CSP's are positioning audiences to respond in certain      way (e.g. right wing/left wing,capitalism /communism etc).  
     
2) Read the whole mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Identify at least one potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment (even if you got full marks for the question).

Q1:The poster is an excellent example of bricolage the juxtaposition of old and new texts.
Q2:The products can be defined as an example of 'state of the nation' series.

3) The first question demanded a response using postmodern terminology. Write a definition here of the three main terms:

-Bricolage:The juxtaposition of old and new texts.
-Pastiche:Media products that imitate the style of another text.
-Intertextuality:Link to another media text.

4) Read this exemplar answer for the 25-mark question in the assessment. Select a quote from the essay for each of the following aspects from the mark scheme:

a) analysis of the products that focuses on contexts and ideological positioning
-Both capital and Deutschland 83 construct ideological positions that reflect social,cultural and political contexts.

b) use of media theory 
-Gramsci's theory if hegemony.

c) a judgement or conclusion on the question
-In conclusions ,it is impossible to ignore the ideological positions constructed by the television dramas and capital and D83 are no exception to this.

d) examples from the TV CSPs
-'Capital is a state of the nation drama'.

e) use of media terminology 
-The western capitalists ideologies are being unconsciously reinforced through the construction of the narrative and key elements of mis-en-scene.

5) Based on this assessment, write three things you need to revise before the upcoming end of Year 12 exams.

-Post modernism terminologies.
-Know the structure of Q2.

mise en scene analysis

  1) Find a distinctive   still image   and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson. -The windows of his car have bullets holes in them, which may show that bad guys are after him and are trying to kill him. The man in the far right corner with a gun has connotations that he is the bad guy trying to kill the innocent man driving the car. The gold light shining on the man in the car shows him to be the main character and he is a nice man as he is so is the centre of attention.
